From the get-go just to make it clear, I've paid my money to run this and don't need the money to obtain a place.

The people that make our world in the water safer need a donations to keep us safe. This year I'm running the Great North Run, it's the worlds largest half marathon, and I'll be running for the RNLI. Every donation counts no matter the amount, so here are a few prices for the kit these people need to save lives.
It cost £1,170 to kit out ONE crewmember in protective gear;

Lifejacket with lifeline £499
All weather protective jacket £235
Helmet £176
Gloves £16
Trousers £206
Non-Slip boots £38

Honest, donate pennies or pounds but please take a few moments to make a donation.
You can donate via this link.
End of speech.
