So I honestly prefer to surf in my bikini, but i know for sure it will totally come off in a wipe out. I tried just using my top and some board shorts which works pretty well, but same problem with bigger wipe out/ bigger waves...but i seen a lot of gurls wearing their bikinis do you have the same problem and just dont care, or do you surely cut off your blood cirulation tieing it up? How do you make it so that the bathing suit doesnt come undon or pull up on a wipe out/random wave?

personally, i can't relate. but being a surf instructor, i see a lot of lost tops (and the hilarity/embarassment/awkwardness that ensues). rash guard over the top is the safest way. otherwise, i don't know how some of the girls manage to keep em on. loss of blood circulation, magical knots, or some sort of black magic, i don't know. hell, i have problems keeping my shorts on sometimes, so yeah. good luck to yall

I have no idea how other women keep their bikini's on. I never experienced this problem surfing in england (too cold!) but last year I was in Hawaii and I remember rushing excitedly to the beach when I got there, got on myboard, paddled out.... first wipeout my top came right off    I'll never forget the expression on this guys face infront of me. It still haunts me to this day... his eyes and mouth were wide open just staring at me to the point where I thought there must be something wrong with my boobs!

The next time I went surfing I wore my tankini, thinking that would solve the problem, but no, my boobs came right out over the top when I rode down the face of a little 3ft wave  I don't know whether it's because they're bigger than average or whether everyone has the same problem? The only way to surf comfortably was to wear a rash vest! I didn't have to worry about a thing then AND it stopped me from burning!

If anyone knows of a supportive bikini which is unlikely to come off and definitely keeps things in where they should be, I'd love to know about it :D

I can't resist adding a pic - me in my rash vest, covered in bruises with my hair a total mess after 3 hours in the water  but... boobs firmly in place  happy days!

Thanks for all the replies, I was just wonder how they kept it on, i guess i only looked at the other girls while passing and not when they were actually wipeing out or getting the wave.
As far as that naked surfing goes...no way... unless there was like this beach just for surfers and everyone was nude, then hell yea im down! I wonder how it feels to catch a waves naked and wipe out? hahah!

Well, I just started surfing but even in summer (which is the smallest wave season) it is quiet nice, you can get some clean waves. I am hoping to see them grow in winter. As for the nude beach... I don't think there is one, never heard of such thing and living around here I think I should have known by now. :p

Did you surf at the Isla Blanca Beach Park? (It's at the south of the island actually, where the waves are at its best)

Cetain bathing suits stay on better than others. I order all my suits from Honey Girl Waterwear (although their website is currently down for construction). These suits are made specifically for ocean sports as the owner is also a surf gal.

Halter and triangle tops stay on better as long as they tie at the neck and back. Brazillian and other skimpy bottoms can slip off when duckdiving, so pick a style with a little more coverage. Personally, I don't like wearing rashguards or boardshorts, which give you funny tan lines and chafed thighs and armpits.

Here are a couple pictures of Honey Girl suits

I use the top in the 1st and 2nd pictures and the bottom in the 3rd picture. Haven't given any "free shows" even in overhead surf. LMK if you want to contact Louisa, the owner of Honey Girl.

I'm sure proper fit is a must....from my experience if I'm wearing fat Parry trunks(when I am not fat Parry) , I have to hold on. CRACK KILLS!!

Keep the stoke!!!

For me personally, I wear a two-piece workout suit made for swimming. Most have a drawstring on the bottom, helping to hold it in place, and the top usually fits pretty tight and no ties to worry about (i hate halter tops, which seems to be the way that all bikinis are going these days, but don't provide the support i need.)

I'm male, but just chiming in to say I can relate. I almost lost my board shorts out there today. I want some better ones that won't fall off, but I need a 46 and nobody makes larger than a 44 except for the hawaiin company I got these from. There's no elastic, just a single string so... they fall half off of me EVERY wave.

I have seriously mooned this entire town many times.

I wear normal swim shorts ( not speedo`s) :D with elastic waist and cord, most of the board shorts i`ve used have Velcro and a stupid cord just at the front. Girls what about sport bra`s ?.
