My good friend's family (also one of my best friends married into the family) so the whole family are pretty good friends of mine. Well they bought tons of land about a 10 minute walk from the beach in Costa Rica! Where they said the surf is great.. a beach for every skill set, from beginner to advanced.
They are building a house on the land currently, and eventually a hotel (next couple years)
They told me I am welcome to stay for free any time I like. And it is only about a £180 flight to Costa Rica from where I live.
So it makes for a very cheap surf vacation with a free place anytime I wanna go. Sorry to gloat guys but this makes me very happy. I cannot imagine surfing Costa Rica! This December if I can convince the lady to let me, I will be traveling out there and surfing my brains out for a week straight.

Buy a bit of the land off them and build a surfing-waves beach hut which we can all use!!!

Good score...it's not what you know, its who.
I have a similar hook up in san jose del cabo mex. Talk about a way to get your friends to do anything for you. I always work on his house when we go.....best deal in the world.

and @real pol I wish I could.. I would definitely open my little hut up to anyone who wanted to stay there.. (i wouldn't have anything valuable there anyway couldn't afford it haha)

Sweet. Whereabouts exactly in costa is the plot of land. And don't forget to drop Jethrodog a line as he's got himself a place out there too.

Thanks Greg,
I will pass the word to Tony.....he is a plumbing contractor, and windows/ doors for me....but you know how the plumber never wants to work on his own pipes....so you might have a chance

I can't even imagine that.
I have never been in water warmer than 68 degrees-ish.
(I am used to my 50 degree water

)
So a tropical storm swell would be quite nice haha.

I keep seeing $200 specials from Miami to San Jose CR. Its like a 6 hour drive to Miami, but I keep thinking about doing it.

He just text messaged me back and said that the property is on the beach in the Northern Pacific side of Costa Rica. None the less I won't complain!
