NIce artwork. Did you spray the blank or have you sprayed after glassing and is it poly or epoxy?

The dragons and side logo was done on the blank. The stripe was done on the hotcoat then clear coated over mainly because i only thought of it after glassing  (its a poly made outa biofoam)

Took her out in less than ideal conditions a little bit choppy and slow but the board rides great. Very responsive and pretty quick down the line. Still awaiting to test it out in better conditions (swell coming so maybe wednesday will present better conditions) It paddles really well turns really easy which is what i was hoping. So far im pretty happy :D

Im still learning as i go in regards to shaping and glassing although after i have completed my fish i doubt i will glass my own boards as its just a timeconsuming guit  (mucho respect to those who do such a damn fine job on that front) instead i will likely outsource my glassing to someoone else and solely concentrate on the shaping and art work.

My next project will hopefully be something to the tea of a retro single fin and maybe a biscuit of sorts. Not set on that though

Cheers for everyones comment 8)

Very nice work. Just out of curiosity how did you learn to shape? Was it an individual endeavor or did you go to a class??

Again, very nice work.

Well i always wanted to shape a surfboard and one of my buddies is a pro shaper and raided the factory to give me 3 blanks and a heap of advice however advice is good but until your hands touch the foam its pretty much down to you fortunatly i knew my way round the tools before i started :D . The rest is history as they say  I love the shaping part not so keen on glassing though

brotha, that belongs on a wall as artwork! Looks awesome!
Although I have heard bad things about black boards warping on hot days.. so be careful.

Ya i have no intention of using on blazing summer days also chances are there wont be much to ride on those blazing hot days anyway  Been seriously considering doing a simular board in white with the artwork reversed in black that all depends on what blanks im picking up

Did you shape it yourself? I am guessing yes based on your description of it.

Thats my plan once i refine the process (particulaly in the art department as the style of art im doing is pretty hairy and has no room for error) but for now most my boards are for me and a few friends that are pestering me

Well, I definitely don't fit the female description, and the east coast is too far away to surf with you I fear... but does good looking count for anything? :P
