wow how ironic, i come up here and surf morro all the time which has a healthy shark population, and someone gets attacked at my old surf spot.

What a coincidence, that's the same board I use... Maybe its the black color that is attracting the sharks. Since most seals are black maybe the shark assumes that the black colored surfboard could be a seal =_=;;;

thats a pretty close encounter!
i caught a 4ft long mako shark off the tutukaka coast when i was in N.Z afew weeks ago and i thought that was big!

Wow, I surf bolsa chica all the time which is right next to dog beach... Wonder if it has sommething to do with cold temp of the water lately

read that article in the paper (one made with wood pulp, actual newsprint) and it had a very different picture, and it was even more difficult to tell from the angle of that picture, to me it looked like wood rather than carbon fiber.

The board sits in my sons garage(my son works for lost),it is an aviso,the kid got a new stick in exchange.I myself look at it another view,ya it was a bite of something big,sharke ?

Sharks suck.....
I know some are endagered etc, and im sorry. But, sharks really suck.

No they don't. Humans that kill sharks are the ones that "suck". They are the wrong ones.

Damn.. no good. I hate hearing about sharks and stuff near me. I prefer to pretend they stay far away from the areas I am.
Im kind of with Dr Rev here though. We're the ones going out to them. When sharks grow legs and start attacking people on land, then we can be pissed at them.
