Hey guys long time no see, just remembered my PW :D . Anyway, Spring Break is coming up and I want to try riding my bike once I finish adding on a surf rack (info from this site) and the nearest spot is about 15 miles away. How bad is 15 miles on a bike since this will be my first time trekking alone to this spot with a shortboard.

Ouch - fifteen miles cycling with a surfboard will be VERY hard work

Assuming you're on a mountain bike or hybrid bike (rather than a dedicated road bike), you'll be looking at about an hour's cycling (less if you're free of traffic), but with a surfboard, if there's any wind you'll feel like you're peddling up a steep hill for an hour and a half at least :?

Ouch.

Give it a go though!

In a minute someone will come on saying they cycle 15 miles in 25 minutes bla bla bla. Ignore them. I used to cycle just under 30 miles a day (now I do a very hilly 18 miles a day instead) and I know how long it takes and how much luggage slows you down.

Heh so wind makes it feel like a bag of bricks on your legs? Hopefully I'll be able to make this surf rack well since the directions seems a bit confusing.

Your legs are gonna be pumped if you cycle that every time you surf :P

plus the wind will push you all over the place and might be hard to control but might be managable on a full day out

if you're planning on cycling to the beach, give it a practise run without the board - seriously, 15 miles (and back again) is a long way to cycle if you're out of practise.

You think your 15 mile trek to the beach is going to be hard, the ride home after a session is going to be complete agony.
