Surfing Waves

Ok so im currently on a RTW trip and ive arranged it that i land @ the Gold Coast for tuesday afternoon - ready for the competition to start on Feb 22nd ....

Was woundering if any members on here are making the trek to Snapper for the comp - wouldnt mind some like minded peeps to kick back and watch some amazing surf (hopefully) with!

i'll be flying in from NZ and crashing at Coolangatta/Kirra YHA Hostel in Billinga - give me a shout on here or PM me!

oh and just out of interest for my trip, what sorta route have you taken on your trip? make sure i'm not missing out on anything, coz i'm booking mine when i'm back from N.Z, cheers man

no sweat, basically i started off in the states and am going anti clockwise where as most go clockwise ...

my route:

NYC - LA - Vegas - LA - NZ (North) - NZ (South) - Oz - Fiji - Oz - Bali - Thailand - Malaysia - India (i may incluse Cambodia if i get the time)

Fiji & Bali are out of my itinerary im just adding them onto my trip while im in Oz - so i'll roll to fiji then bk to oz and work some more!

im having a blast man, meeting some awesome peeps!

btw: was at Snapper earlier, wasnt smoooth but got pretty big, some guys were ripping when i got there, but earlier i heard, Bede, Bobby & Parko were tearing it up!

hope the conditions are good for Friday!

Give me a shout when you're around my neck of the woods! It'd be awesome to hook up and surf!

plan is to go, cali, hawaii, nz, fiji, oz, indo then either home or maybe japan? still undecided on that one. i'll be leaving november this year! can't wait, glad your having a blast, you travelling solo?

Where u going in Malaysia Makka? If your into your diving check out the Tioman Islands on the East Coast. And keep and out for the roof top bar in China Town, KL

hey guys sorry for the delay - been having a blast this end! - snapper rocks was just insane, with it being the 1st time ever for me to see the worlds best do what they do sooo well - its was pretty special, i created quite a sick little photo album which i took through out the event, feel free to browse them here -> http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=9 ... =856990650

im currently in Torquay were i witnessed the Rip Curl Pro @ Bells Beach ... more sickness, unfortunatly there wasnt super gnarly swell which is what i was hoping for, still some good sets rolled in throughout the week ... im creating an album for that within the next few days so again feel free to browse the facebook again!

and as for Kelly Slater, unreal! ... the guys seems soooooo relaxed, 2 out of 2 is seeming like 2008 could be a great year for Kelly, tho he still isnt giving anything away for the future ... wait and see i guess! - i was actually abit bummed that kelly snagged it from bede in the last min of the final!

as for Malaysia, as its a fair few months off yet i havent looked into details, but diving will most certainly happen at some point!

next stop - Bali ... i leave tomorrow - if anyone has any advice on whats hot and whats not its allways welcomed!

Dude, you missed south africa!!! You should come here, there is some really good spots with few crowds (if you can find them). And you really don't want to miss capetown, there is like 50 spots withing an hours drive, and Durban with it's über hollowness. And if you want you can hit J-Bay with it's crowd of 20 thousand.
