I swear the surf hates me. The only time I can get down to Devon is the end of next week, and the surf is screwing itself up on the day I arrive after a long, long period of perfect surf with sunny weather.

It happens every fookin time. :(

Sometimes it feels the same to me., I'll go to the beach one day after work (usually blown out chop) to check it out.. and it will be a nice calm sunset with few little rides here and there and I watch and enjoy.

Then Im like, okay, tomorrow it should be roughly the same, Ill be prepared. Show up the next day and go out in the surf and its a total mess, nobody else is out, Im falling all over myself because of the bumpy windy waves.

Apparently, I don't get the memo's when its the right timing. :?

i can't believe it man!! There's some waves this weekend. Went out for a nice early morning session today and loved it. Went in this afternoon had an awesome surf 3-4ft and my last wave i broke the fin plug so i can't surf tomorrow and it's going to cost me a bit to have it repaired (but theres another crack in the glassing as well). ITS HORRIBLE!! :x

that always happens to me in Spain, i only have weekends free, and it seems like waves don't like weekends, it sucks!! although in December i did go everyweekend...
when i'm in Peru, i never have that problem.... there's no place like home..

You know what, I get every other weekend off...during the week I watch the swell build, view the webcams etc. When it comes to my weekend off God puts the 'finger of flat' on the ocean and it's calmed!

Just hope Portugal is firing two weeks tomorrow!!! 8)

yes i know exactly what you mean, I used to look forward to the weekends but there was nothing to surf. Now Im waaaay to busy to go surfing and the conditions are great :(

and previously when I booked holidays it turned out flat, now I have booked holidays around the times that my assignments are due in so I have time to do them......i bet it will be firing those weeks now!

It's true! Truly good surf is so infrequent, when it hits, you had better take advantage. All the carp we've all surfed in, waiting for the shoulder/head high lip spitting beauty we see in the mag's is fun, but when it's truly good, surf til you can't surf no more because it's probably going to be quite awhile until you see surf as good again.

^I'm doin my AS levels this summer, so untill I pass my driving test in a few weeks I can only wait or lifts down to devon or the south coast to surf, like i have been doin for 7 years.

Seems like the only option is to move to the coast somewhere warm when I'm done in school and uni.

sucks.....the more u surf the less that will be. I can remember many frustrating days in my youth....now I am one with the water....merging my soul with the ocean was my best life move ever.
