That much rain? We've had more in NorCAL, but we still have a lot of beaches that do not get polluted following rain. Some of them do, but many don't. That's different than Los Angeles. I've read about surfers that go in the water anyway and then have flu like symptons. That makes it real, I'm sure. As much as we all love to be in the water, it isn't worth getting sick over. You LA guys will have to wait it out and remember that most of the year you have fabulous warm weather (unlike us).

I'd just like to point out that the sun is out, its lovely and warm, the water is 24C, and there's a beautiful swell running right now.

I don't care that it is/will be raining. If we get the swell in this saturday that they are calling for I am going to be in the water.

And at least Hawaii's rain is a warm rain. Here it's supposed to rain off and on through monday, at least and it is in 50-60 degree F range here, this is not one of those storms from the south that is nice and warm and wet.

mmm yes this rain. i've literally been dreaming of perfectly shaped waves the last couple nights cause of no surf. looks like we'll get a nice window to surf saturday morning until the afternoon with some offshores. crossing fingers.

I don't mind the rain so much, but the brown water is a health hazard especially when the sewers start overflowing here.

was that from the forty or so days straight of rain a couple of years ago?
The top photo looks beautiful, but in the bottom one, reality sets in.
