a back mirror at the board. So you don't need to look back while you're paddling. Like one of those mirror that's in the motorcycle and the car!

keeping an ipod dry, with headphones that will stay dry would be cool, but not sure how many people would use it, because i like to chat when i'm out, but new types of boards, i saw a student who had built a surfboard with extra stringers (already been done before) but this added strength to the board etc. simple stuff goes a long way, but if i could think of these things, i wouldnt be doing what i am now

Making surfing a more environmentally friendly persuit, there is alot of scope there. The use of thermosets like neoprene and other rubber is unprocessable bulk that enevitably ends up in landfill, fiberglass and expanded foam are also un-reclaimable not to mention the amount of driving that takes place in order to get to surf.

theres alot of potential there, particularly as surfing is a sport that prides itself on its connection with nature. theres been alot of advancements in materials that surfing hasint quite taken advantage of yet.

A helmet cam that is affordable for the masses.

Or a leash that retracts so it won't get wrapped around your feet.

Or a bullet proof key safe you can fit to the van. Not the type you can buy at the mo, much to weak.

Coloring the board dolfin grey, so that sharks won't attack it (to get my grandmother off my back, I live with my grandparents, and I also live in the most shark invested waters in the world, (Mosswelbay, mythbusters even came down here to confirm the dolfin myth.)
