Mavericks surf contest was won by an OC native. :D
Greg Long from San Clemente scored the only perfect wave opf the contest on his way to beating out South African Grant "Twiggy Baker for the title.
Long is splitting the $75,000 prize equally with the other finalists: Baker, Carlsbad's Evan Slater, Mavericks regular Grant Washburn, Hawaii's Jamie Sterling, and Santa Cruz's Tyler Smith.

I'm just trying to visualize some trying to do a kickflip at Mavs when it's pumping out there.
Well, it is a six way split, so each of them is getting approximately $12,500, definately more than the paltry sum for doing a kick flip.

Yeah man, I'd love to go there, just to watch.

That was nice of him sharing the winnings though.

I live 2 hours from J-Bay, so I go there every now and then for a week or so.
