Does anyone know what the rule of this is? Is there like a hight limit & do you have to pay another fare for the board?

I used to get to my local break using solely the train, and not having a car I still do a fair bit of it. Basically, as far as I know, there are no rules per se, and I think you can get away with it in most places! The only time I have ever had anyone be funny about me having a board with me (this was on a bus actually) was when the bus was jammed and even then I managed to convinvce the driver that I could have it in front of me without disturbing anyone.

The thing with trains is that there is no one at the doors as you get on, so even if the ticket inspector comes round and makes a fuss about yer board there is fleshin' all they can do about it by that point!

Only thing I'd suggest is just respecting other people. Avoid peak times if possible. Don't worry about it!

...J...

Oh, one more thing, if you're really worried about it, a lot of trains have bike carraiges or areas designed specifically for bikes and that'll make things easier if you use them.

do you not live in Guildford my good sir.... :?:

Essex, where abouts are you based matey :?: i'm about an hour away from the town of bournemouth..... :D

and Kabazz, where the "bike" compartment is on the train, there is usually a seat in the same part of the carriage where you can watch all that goes on around your board, i used to do it when i took my bike on with me, no-one really cared.....
