Strange surfing event
Posted: Sat Nov 03, 2007 10:58 pmAbout a week ago i went surfing to a reef i have been many times before its a long long paddle out but there are many channels you can take and not have to duckdive at all. waves were okay but the strangest thing happened.
I took a wave fairly far in and began to try and paddle out through the channel i was making zero progress so i tried padling parralel to shore but made no progress either. Then i tried paddling towards shore and yep made no progress. In the end i just sat on my board twiddling my thumbs for a few minutes and just like that i paddled back out with ease.
That has never happened to me before or since so what on earth could possibly cause that.
for a split second i thought maybe the twilight zone had got me cause thats what it felt like
