How short or what sort of shape/style can a board be and still surf like a longboard?

I got a 7'6 Magic Carpet board from Escape surfboards. Got it exactly for that reason, it's basically a longboard with 2ft missing from the middle! Fits in my 'Punto' too lol!

Groovy! That might be what I go for next!

I'm right light n all so I should get away with a shorter board.

Difficult to see from that photo but i don't like the outline and it doesn't have a rounded pin like the infomation says.

The text does say "Normally" comes with a rounded pintail.

My sunride is 7'6" and it rides much like my herbie fletcher 9'1" thriller, but is easier to turn, and more stable when going slowly. It is a beginner board really, but there are still days when I rather ride it over the herb. I've got close to the nose on it and it is a really easy board to ride, and I can duck dive it, and when it's a bit windy doesn't make me fly through the air like the herb. mmmm beginning to wonder why I bought the long board now..............?
