hey guys,
im heading up to cornwall this weekend as the weather looks good and so do the waves.
Ive been surfing about 18months now and am an intermediate surfer id say, i dont wipeout that often and can pump ok and do a few cutbacks.
Iv been out in 4foot fistral before and that was ok but abit worried about this weekend.
How big do you think it will be? And how can i not surf it so big, like stay on the inside or are there any more sheltered spots?

I know if in doubt dont go out but im just looking to see what you guys think.

Thanks

If you want smaller waves go to the east side of the pile of 5hit, main land that is.

i'm an experienced bodyboarder but have been surfin for bout 3 months & i've been out in bigger a few times, never been down in cornwall surfin but when we normally get forecasts identical to your one then the 4star quality surf is a great sign no matter what size of surf, and also when our period is 13-14 seconds it usually makes the quality of wave that comes in exceptional. We get waves that are large but they really hold up for ages & are easier to predict were they'll break. What we usually think afterwards is that it was big, but safe & absolutely f***in amazing! So not sure how the surf goes down there but i reckon you should just get down there, have a look & suss it for yourself. Watch what other folk that are already in the water are doing & just make your decision from what you see! I've learnt so much more by going out in the bigger waves & it feels great when you really nail one that's well overhead. It also gives you a lot more confidence in all waves smaller afterwards too!
