When I first joined this forum there was someone from Prince Edward Island on here. I haven't seen him for a while, but you could meet up with him, I imagine it's only a short trip on a boat to get from PEI to NL, or it looks like that on a map!!!
(Sorry for my pointless, unhelpful post)

Heehee,
No worries. Thanks for responding. Its a huge distance actually. No ferries between PEI and NL. Have to go to the main land to get a ferry to either island. But there is a brigde from PEI to the Mainland takes about 30-45 mins to cross. The ferry to NL is 7-10 hrs on the'short ferry" that runs all year and 14-21 hrs on the 'long' ferry that only runs in the summer. Both islands are provinces, but really small populations so flights are super expensive becasue of the low demand.

Yeah, I dated a girl from PEI and I used to joke that Canada was really small cos it always took up the same amount of pages as the UK did in an atlas (obviously a UK atlas). She used to go on and on about how far every where was.......anyhoo, don't know why I'm telling you this, but I'd be interested to know what the surf in NF is like..I imagine it's pretty good.

Haha.
That must have made her so mad. I would also love to know what the surf is like. I found this photo on this site actually:
https://surfing-waves.com/waves/pic200.htm Could be fun.
I've been on fishing vessels and Coast guard ships and diving around the island. The surf can be a bit dangerous because of all the shoals. I was at sea in December and the storms were crazy, we took shelter in a covered harbour and a Minke whale came in beside us!!!

Thanks for trying Batman. Where do you surf in ON? I'm from T.O. I might move back. It would be nice to know some good spot there too.

All of the great lakes. They all have good places to surf. Around the GTA, there is Asbridges Bay, Bluffers(near the marina at the bottom of the scarborough bluffs). Also the best place I have surfed near to the GTA is the bridge in Hamilton.
Check out
www.originsurf.ca for more info. That is a Canadian lake surfer forum. You will be able to find more info on there.
