Need some advice for a new board

Postby reefguy » Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:12 am

I surf in primarily in NYC, I am looking to upgrade to a new all around board. I want something that turns easy like my skimboard ( I have a Victoria Ultra Poly) I am 5'7 155 LBS, I was looking at either the Al Merrick FLyer 5'10", 18 1/2" by 2 1/4" thick, the Rusty Diamond which is 6'2" x 20 1/2" x 2 1/2" or a regular fish.

Have you surfed before (skimboard doesn't count)?

there's plenty of local shapers in the NYC area. Why not check out Cosmic Bull (http://www.cosmicbullsurfboards.com/) ? I know a ton of guys who have gotten boards from then custom and are more than happy with the results. they know the local surf conditions really well, too.
