Does anyone know whether you still have to pay for parking during Winter in Cornwall (Newquay mainly or Polzeath) or is it like an off-peak time where they let you park for free?

I'm talking about the parking that's right on the beach at both spots.

Maybe. I'll have a look next time I'm down Polzeath but I don't go Newquay at the moment.

Planning on going Newquay through the winter though as it has those shower bits where you can get changed and be sheltered from the wind

It's about £6 a day down there though which is quite pricey.

depends where you go? in the winter usually the side of the roads are less full so you can just get a space there, which may save money, but quite a few places let you get away without paying during winter

Well I decided to email the Council responsible for Newquay as I was bored at work

The parking adjacent to Fistral isn't owned by the Council so they gave me the contact details of the company that owns it.

They said there is two Council owned car parks near the beach which are free from 1st November to 31st March. Which is pretty good providing they aren't too far away, I'll have to have a look on Google Maps!

Don't the owners of Annes Cottage run the car park? Or is the shop shut in the winter?

And up by doom bar, is there any time restrictions or free for as long as you want?

Awesome, I might as well park behind the cottage then :p I don't suppose you know when they shut for winter?

It's a shame there's no showers at Polzeath like there is at Newquay! Good place to get changed when it's cold ... out of the wind etc!
