They have the heat analyzer working so you can go veiw all of the waves ridden so far. This contest so far has been about picking the right waves and generating speed on weak mushy waves. It's kind of interesting as some of them kind of tic tac the board trying to generate speed and failing or maybe just to keep busy while they are waiting for the wave to wall up. I think particularly effective in generating speed was Jordy Smith. But I liked John Florence, Gabrial Medina and Kelly Slater for their smooth approach to these mushy waves and wave selection skills. They generated speed without looking so much like they were. It may start again I just heard the horn sound.

Yeah unfortunately they ran out of waves in the previous Australian contests this year so kind of made up for it having nice big waves for this one.

The Quicksilver Pro Saquarema QS 10,000 is going on right now. It starts at like 11:30 pm HST so I have not been posting when it was on because by the time I think of it they have stopped for the day. On May 11 the WCT Oi Rio Pro will be starting up

Have you been watching WCT Rio?
Conditions aren't the best, lots of closing waves, but eventually some cool barrels. Guess it's better today than in the first day, maybe the sandbanks are settling?
