minimal is short for mini-malibu, malibu being a longboard, so mini mal is a name for a mini version of that, basically the same shape as a longboard (round nose etc.) but smaller.

I read that quote on the ASP site before and was slightly alarmed to think Slater has a form of OCD  !

minimals and longboards..

also, remember not every longboard is a malibu style. Malibus have specific tail and nose shapes. There are plenty of rounded-nose 9 foot + boards out there that aren't malibus.

As for what Surfersam is riding - I'd have to reserve judgement until I knew the width, thickness and tail style (though it definately ain't a mini malibu).

I only have about 3 or 4 pics of me, and three of them are still on my friends camera.

I know it isn't much, but this is me in Cocoa Beach, last July. It's kinda special because it is actually one of, and possibly, the first wave I've ever caught. It was on a rented board.

Oi oi! I've got some defending to do! :ninja: In Australia and Hawai..yes it is nice...but I still don't get why people go to the effort of it? I mean how difficult must it be to paddle into that  , pop up  ...and get a ride

As for Phuket..bluh!...It is flat now..and will be untill June (and when we do get surf it is usually blown out..powerless crap..but it is a loooottttttt bigger than that ^)

And you can't talk Libby! You lived on the Mount for ages! Thats not exactly bad surf!

I'm not sure you have fully grasped the meaning of overtoe!

I am confident that nobody would be able to beat the size of that "wave"

yes, that's a challenge people.... let's see some pics of the smallest waves you've "surfed", skimboarded, etc
