i absolutely agree with you that you do not need music at all. Music can even be a distraction for some individuals. it is even shared by many that some just love to listen to the sound of waves.
so to honor your comment: I really agree

now to build up as a critic.
I find that your comment gives some taint of you know like: hey i love surfing anyway. so therefor it just doesnt contribute to the topic starters question. like you are so good you dont need music.(nobody necessarily needs it)

I only live a mile from the beach so only time for one or two songs but really don't need to get fired up to surf I am always ready to go.

Honestly the songs i posted are really what i use for loads of things. Just to get hyped.

In reality im really out of sync in this surf music thing. I love rap and hip hop for skating.
I love dnb en dubstep for snowboarding.
I love psychedelic trance for mountainbiking.
I love liquicity for downhill longboarding
But for surfing i cant find many. Hip hop in surfing doesnt go in sync with the surf flow imo.
I just hate rock exczpt for a few songs( with all respect if u guys like it)
Trance and such works with some vids or waves i had exp. with.
But really i cant find a genre that gives the complete arsenal of music to satisfy me.
Oh yeah i also dont like the traditional surf music aka beach boys stuff and that guitar thingy.

I guess if i can find a proper beat to a proper wave. A big wave is woooow. Hmmm rock(not for me)
A small wave you could even go mellow electro.

Ah well. 187 and snoop dogg will keep me going.
