Was a solid 2ft clean this morning. It was lovely. Caught it just at the right time. As I was leaving it started going flat again so it was one of those one off surfs you get for an few hours until it goes flat again.

Had a 2 hour surf lesson/session in Kihei, Maui on Monday. Never have I caught so many waves, stood up on most of them, though the instructor called the waves anklebiters. It was amazing, morning session, great water temp, 11 ft foam board made for easy surfing, but tough paddling, I am still sore today.
I am ready to clean the old wax of my board and head out to my local break, and get back in the water and finally stand up on this one.

2-3ft choppy at Llangennith today. Wasn't too amazing as it was really choppy but it was really good to get in after having this 2 week flat spell. Its picking up again anyway :D

Just come back from peaks and had an awsome surf there. It was about 3ft choppy when I got there and then an hour later it got pretty heavy out the back. I was stunned. You had to paddle out about half a mile for the big sets which were around 6ft easily. Doesn't sound right but it was! I usually underestimate too.

What reef? I was surfing the beach. The car park is free, never heard anything about charging. Its a good car park too because theres cameras overlooking the car park.
Its awsome for surfing. Most consistent spot on the gower, usually a foot or two bigger than Gennith. It breaks lovely from the peaks. They get hollow, steep and you even get some wedges.

Where to is peaks, guys? I'm not too sure on the individual breaks, still learning.

I'm looking to get out tomorrow as I need to get some more practise in...will have a look down Caswell and if not then Llangennith.

is there? i never seen a camera there where is it- ill make sure i park under it next time. I'd never seen anyone charging until this summer the caravan park guy was charging £2 to get in one day.
Best not to give out directions there on the net tho, too many people go there already, the walk used to keep most away but ive seen it well rammed a few times this year.

think youll be lucky to get any waves at caswell, gennith is your best bet. I had a look down aberavon today and there was a few people out but the waves looked pretty crappy. Saw about 10 cars with longboards on top on their way there about 530 too.

While your still learning its probably best to stick to the main beaches - llangennith and caswell, some of the more isolated spots can get pretty sketchy with strong currents and rocks etc.

Gennith cam looked quite nice earlier on this evening. I think I might go there tomorrow. The walk from the car park isn't far either unlike some spots on the gower which take blooming ages. I go to Llangenith most the time, usually has the best waves and the car park isn't far, oooh and it has a tap!! :D

Got out down Llangennith today, not bad frequent sets though a bit choppy at times. Did you get out in the end, Laguna?

By the way, where is the tap?

lol im still waiting to go, going to try and rush down there now if I can. Waiting for this heavy delivery in my house at the moment so can't go until it comes.
The tap is by the Green hut where they store all the learner surfboards for the WSF lessons.
