Yea, sunblock is a must. It may be cold (or hot depending on how far away form the equator you usually surf) in the water but the sun always burns! I find zinc is the best, but you look like a pillock.
You can get clear zinc now. It normaly is the best too. Mostly because it stays on alot longer in the water.
