well, i can't go all that way and NOT go to Pipeline!!! I'm hoping i can surf it when it's almost flat...

and yes, I sorted out all my travel & medical insurance. All covered (unless there's something dodgy in the small print which I haven't read yet...) it seems ok, covers all extreme sports and millions of pounds worth of medical expenses... even flies your body back in the event of death !!!

as long as i'm not eaten by a shark or knocked unconscious on a reef or sucked down a hole I'm sure I'll be fine :D

This time of the year you'd be better off snorkelling at Pipe than surfing!!!
The North Shore is defo the best part of Oahu though!!

Can't say what the quality of surf is, other than that there aren't a lot of famous breaks on the island that I'm aware of... BUT, there should be some swell there, and there should also be plenty of beach breaks if you're on the lookout.

Also, the water shouldn't have a major stinger problem, nor is it renown for sharks, but they are always a risk.

Aside from that, there are good breaks near by, as you head south from brisbane.

Should be an awesome surf trip.
