The REALLY amusing thing is, I think his opinion is probably a lot more accurate than the predictions of the people spending £8,000,000 to try and improve surfing tourism in the area.

I read about this ages ago and couldn't believe it - like has already been said, it's all well and good making a reef, but why put it in a part of the country that is all but blocked from any half decent swell????

Latest word from my friend who lives in Boscombe is that since it's going to cost so much, they may be looking at ways of recouping the cash.

It seems that they may be handing over the management to a local surf school, which will probably mean charges to use the reef.

Don't know how you'd police it, but that seems to be the rumour at the moment.

So, would you pay (probably a lot once it's rennovated) to park, then pay to use the reef in a part of the world that doesn't get great surf anyway? Or would you drive further down the coast?

The reef is being funded from the re-development of the lower boscombe car park which is currently being turned into flats.

the reef isn't definate at the moment, talking to some guy and he was saying how they havn't got the right paperwork and stuff, and the council are actuly thinking of charging, i dont know how they would but they might

i had a chance to go down their today, took one look at the webcam and said no way, going for a dawn sesh tomorrow tho, thats the only time its gunu be emptyish
