How come there's no 6-8 foot??

I'm happiest and have fun in 6-8' but I do like the adrenaline rush of bigger waves

I just HATE the wipouts and thinking I'm going to die :?

8 to 10 ft face is ideal. I go out in the bigger stuff but get to tired real quick on the paddel back out.

Walls Of Water

Postby Knockalla Surf » Wed Nov 08, 2006 2:35 pm

I think between 4 -6 ft (faces) are class, anything over that and paddling into a wall that is about to dump a whole ocean of energy on top of you is one of the most scary things(specially when you can't duck-dive like me!!)

4-6ft for me :D , but I'm talking a proper 'solid 4-6ft' which is actually pretty big really (i.e. well overhead), not your actual tape measure 4-6ft face... which is erm... exactly 4-6ft on the face :P !

damn, i voted before i read it was measuring face size, of well.

Id say overhead to 1.5x overhead is best, plenty of power and easy to get speed (no pumping like a madman to make sections), big enough to have some consequence and thrill but not so much that it panics you into playing it safe.

Something overhead is good. Like Gower said..no pumping..non of that stuff. Although I do like it when it scares me when I go for a snap or a floater. Might just hit that hollow section and drop outa the sky!
