its not just the sea temp but the difference between air and sea that hits you, it was freezing here last week but as the sea is warmer than the air it feels warm on your feet as you first get in, it only get really cold as you walk back to your car :) I always find spring to be worse because the air is warming up but the sea is lagging behind and that makes it feel even colder. of course the wind direction and amount of cloud cover also has a big impact on hold cold it actually feels when your out there, a calm sunny day in summer is fine in boardies but an overcast day with a N or E wind is wetsuit time.

Believ it or not, I have actually surfed in cold water in Spain, so I know that feeling when you get out and the freezing wind hits you and then it takes about 3 hours to get your body back to normal temperature.

It's ust not my thing :?
