bgdkmetzger2003 sweet vid man was that taken on big wednesday? I headed up to swamis that day and watched them at it. I hit the surf on the thursday it was pretty much closed out where i was in OB.

But i chatted to a couple of people that surfed big wednesday aparantly loads of broken boards accured particually from sneeker sets (which happens a lot at blacks on of the reasons im not too keen on that spot  )

ps- I think i know the bodyboarder in the vid i assume its him beacuse he was at blacks and lives for big wave riding

Hey, fellow san diego surfer! Yeah Black's can be very unpredictable. I give your bodyboarding friend huge props and anyone else that went out that day. I hope someday that maybe I could get out in that size. I think it will take years and years before I would be comfortable out there.

Yep blacks is unpredictable it also happens to be one of the sweetest breaks when the surf is pumping. I dont think i would head out there in big surf on a surfboard (not good enough gimme a few yers then maybe) but on a bodyboard oooooh. We went on the thursday after big wednesday too the reef side of OB and it was epic really hairy the waves were banging in the 14-18ft face they didnt hold well though so that same day we headed out to sunset cliffs and had one of the hardest paddle outs ever. It took me about 30 minutes to pluck up the courage to drop down one of those monsters my heart was pumping though. One of my mates board got snapped in two and i let him take my swim fins otherwise he could have been in real trouble. End of the day no casulties and it was fun. Memories! cant wait for those winer swells im deffo heading up to blacks when it starts banging again might see u up there.

we dont get so manyt broken boards here as the waves arent do powerful, but they do happen, ive known a few people snap noses off their boards. I had a nastyt wipeout last week where i got thrown and fell a good 8 feet straight onto my board, was convinced id broken it but it was fine but had i hit it just right im sure it would have gone.

well it wasnt big enough for my fav secret spot to be working but caswell was pretty good about lunchtime, 2-3ft glassy and the hollowest ive ever seen it, but not perfect, too many closeouts. Had a scan at aberavon later and it looked windier but clean, not as big as id hoped there either.
