Which one is more dangerous surfing or skimboarding? Head crash to the ground or the 10 ft thick wave sucking your ass like a bitch. I dunno, but sounds pretty fatal to me.

When I was a kid, I'd skim board all day long. I started up again a few years ago. In May 2007 I broke one big toe doing it. This toe is still unhealed today. I haven't gone skim boarding since.

That video is amazing - but did you know that skimboarding is one of the major sources for watersport injuries (in the UK)??

My mate broke his arm doing it and nearly lost the arm due to compartment syndrome.

We threw the skimboards away........... :)

Skim boarding is way fun when the waves are flat. You just gotta practice and practice and eat it then get up and practice more.

depends on what you weigh. but sebastiansurfer is right, either a large wedge or a pro. get one that has a weight range where you are in the lower end of it. so if the board is rated 90-120 lbs, try to be on the 90-100 lb side of the spectrum.

for me, skimming is kind of lost on me now. it was fun when i was younger, but anytime there is heaving shorebreak to have any fun with a skimboard, there's a sandbar that's breaking somewhere else. so i end up just surfing instead

I see everyone here is talking about skimboards and I have been doing a lot of research on them looking to buy a new skimboard. I am hoping someone knows something about I found a skimboard there that I like but want to try and learn a little information on the website

I'm skimboarding when the conditions are really bad, it's a great alternation for surfing.
