Any things about surfing that piss you off?

I got sucker punched the other day.....was up and cruising down the line the other day and was dropped in on by a kook who threw his board at me when he saw me coming, presumably trying to get out of the way but in effect hurled his board like a torpedo into my ankles since he pushed himself off the back of his mini mal and shoved the board forward with the wave that he'd been padding into with blinders on. Anyway, I'd thought I'd gotten around him as we made eye contact just before he corked his board forward into me. Hit me so hard it cut my ankle and it's swollen and bruised now.

I hate cold water. I live in TX so our water in the winter is close all of yalls in the summer but I still hate that damn cold. Ugh

I don't mind the cold water. It's putting on and taking off the wetsuit, gloves, booties, hood as well as rinsing them all off that has probably caused me to skip more surfing sessions than anything else.

I hate cold water for the first few seconds after that I am used to it (Hawaii cold water). The initial touch is cold but I try to immerse myself immediately then start paddling and after a few strokes I forget about the cold.

I was going to say cold water too, and then I read the rest of your post and now realise (again) that I have it really good in Australia.

It was 15C a few weeks ago NSW south coast. That was bad enough; no one has 5/3 or booties or hoodies. I think if I surfed water much colder than that I might give up

What do I hate - public holidays. Not a holiday -5 people out. Christmas time - 25 people out.

Actually what I hate are Sydney surfers coming to surf. They are always much more aggro, selfish and don’t let people get a fair share. Probably northern beaches I imagine (Cronulla folk are exempt)
