The ones we worry about mostly here are black so yes you try to look and avoid them and if the water is too deep to look then paddle with your board flipped over and sideways shallow strokes. Over here they are called wana (pronounced "vahnah") and some people still collect them to eat them. They place them in a wire cage and when they have enough they shake it back and forth breaking off all the spines then crack them open and eat them raw.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

hmmm i always end up not liking slippery food :lol: . i tried sea snails in morocco. and i only loved the soup it was boiled in. i tried mossels(black mussel. didnt like it even fried i didnt. will these urchins be any different in structure? i mean you eat them uncoocked(raw). always try everything ofcourse. sushi is also not for me.

do like scampi tho. but they taste like fish so. food is also my hobby :blah: :lol:
