I got a long straight edge to evaluate the bottom of my board and discovered an interesting configuration. There is a miniscule V before the back thruster fin and in front of that is a concave with rails that slightly taper up from about 6 inches out to the rail. In front of that appears a very minimal single concave. The back half of the board is pretty flat as far as rocker goes then slightly more in the front half. The concave in the deck is difficult to see with wax on the board but it was there when I first got it. I had him put in a third layer of glass over the back one third of the board as I had him do for the 8 foot board. I have had this done for the majority of my boards because I create huge pressure dings where my back foot goes. I didn't ask him why he created the concave in the tail deck surface. Perhaps that will be a stronger configuration for the anticipated pressure. I figure I must be at least 2 gs maybe 3 gs of force on some of my bottom turns which would mean 420 pounds of pressure or maybe 630. I can feel it in my knees on some of the bottom turns I do. Still working on my second turns, I haven't figured out how to put my full weight into them yet.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
