Yes, but that's not my concern, sorry for my limited use of the English language. I wonder how wide the space on the clean face will be. The ridable area of the Wavegarden wave in Spain looks a bit claustrophobic to me.
I see the pro's do a lot of tight bottom turns and tight cutbacks, very monotonous. I would miss the freedom of movement and the creativity that comes with it.

yeah well I might do it for the experience but even just having to wear a wetsuit kind if puts me off a bit but how much would you pay for 20 perfect waves with no one else on? For me I am not into perfect waves. I surf onshore wind swell that is choppy and breaks unevenly but I love it and sometimes I can make those waves look like they are great waves because I surf them all the time. Put me on a perfect wave and I would have trouble trying to figure out what to do.......for a while anyway then I am sure i would get it down. Perhaps you would prefer the intermediate wave which will be 1.2 meter and break along the outside of the pool. If the 2 meter wave is good enough the pro surfers will probably want to use it to work on their turns and board selection. They can make it have sections if they want by altering the bottom.

If I still was living in Amsterdam I would have certainly hopped over to check it out, now (from Bali) it's a bit too far
I would welcome a park like this in Bali though. Possibly it would be a big money maker here with all the surfers who visit the island year round. Actually I know an interesting site for it in Denpasar, close to my house there is this big unused lake area, about the size of 3 or 4 soccer fields, that would be perfect for installing a wavegarden setup. Any investors interested?

Your forgetting one very important cultural aspect here. This wave is in the UK. Therefore 2M wave =2-3ft or head high.
I'm planning to give it a go once the hype dies down a bit but I fear it will become a popular destination for stag & hen do's.

The size (height) of the wave is good but the space on the face is too small. If u like wide flowing carves u risk running in the pier. All I see is that claustrophobic up and down movement, so monotonous!

It must be technically possible to create a wave with a wider face, just position the reef structure further out. But that would possibly require more energy at the same waveheight. And they promised a 6ft wave..

Call me crazy but this doesn't really interest me......to me it is like fishing in a stocked lake....will you catch fish? Sure you will.....but it takes away a lot of what the activity of surfing is about for me which includes and embraces the day to day, hour to hour variables.....this just seems like a wet skatepark with a timer......

Sure it has it's limitations, a lot maybe. Still I'm happy with projects like this, I would try it out for sure if they build one here. Plenty of stocked lakes here btw...

Just found out there's a 'wavegarden' project in my homecountry in the city of Rotterdam. I'm born and raised in Amsterdam, so not alowed to say 1 positive thing about that other city. Still...

Interesting. The pros all say it takes a few waves for them to get the hang of it. I think that translates to a few sessions for the average Joe

In case you didn't see our message yesterday guys we're really sorry to announce that our surf lagoon will be closed for a number of days due to a mechanical fault with our Wavegarden.
We're working really hard to repair the fault as quickly as possible and get those waves pumping out again... we know how disappointing this is to all of you who have booked sessions in the coming week, and we're really sorry for any inconvenience this unavoidable closure may have caused.
All customers who are affected by the temporary closure will be offered a full refund or a credit on their Surf Snowdonia account, whichever they would prefer.
