Genetics.. it could just be that the guy comes from a family of rather large people.. and he must enjoy to eat. Large family + love to eat still wouldn't cancel out with the fitness behind surfing.

That's my guess anyways..

It is not photoshopped. I know how to use photoshop very well and there is way too much detail for somebody this to be not real.

This guy is my new hero. I'm impressed, for sure. :D

I've seen a bunch of photos of that guy a couple of years ago.

You guys don't remember shaun briley? One of the best at Pipe in the 90's and one chunky customer. Not as fat as this guy, but you would definitely describe him as fat (although not to his face)

You just compared Briley to this whale.....you wouldn't say that to his face either :P

No I definitely would not say anything about Brileys weight to his face!

I wasn't really comparing him to this guy, more pointing out to those that thought the image must be photoshopped that it is possible for someone out of shaped to surf well.

I mean if Briley can be one of the best guys at Pipe (in the90's) then why is it so hard to believe that this fella can order himself a 4" thick board and get a couple of basic tubes at padang?

The beach is more fun when you're fat.

If all that bloke has to do is paddle out between sets – and if he eats loads and does nothing else, then his energy intake exceeds his calorific burn = a lard arse.

Fat floats too so he’d be okay paddling.

Hope he don't wear a thong on the beach though

Heh, knew someone would come through. There's a local from padang over at the redcoat's surf site (hint) who's personally seen him surf.
