see how it just cuts off near the right hand side??? or is it a wave that walls straight up, leaving a straight edge on one side??? no way.......besides the guys wouldn't be facing that way if something like that is coming, and there's no way they hadn't noticed... it actually looks like they're gonna go for a wave...... who are u trying to fool???? :
:surfing:

OK, i didn't explain myself well then, the wave might be real, but that picture isn't, like i said there's no way those guys will be facing that way and not notice what was coming, and don't tell me that that real wave walls up like that, with one side going completely straight up, waves shrink towards the end and are not steep, they dont just finish in a gnarly steep ass wall.....

actually yes it is... Like i said its a back wash.. it wedges a bit hence the sudden drop off from the shoulder... they are about to catch it into the next back wash in front of it. I should know I've hit it before!...

ok, so.... then what it is.. it's a wave that has just hit a wall and it's about to come back?? that's why it looks like that... and the guys are gonna go for it then, is that what you mean????
there's no attitude by the way, it just doesn't look real, a normal wave does not come like that....
my appologies if someone got offended.....
i still doudbt it though......

the back wash from the walls/revetmens come back at a slight angle at this particular spot. Thus the wedge effect... Newport Wedge on a big day has a similar effect. except newport its more wedgey that backwashy :p but its long thoese lines...
This particular backwash take a big swell to make it work and when it does its usually accompanied by big winds hence the chop.

Does that make sense?

ok,ok,
check this out http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/a ... rtComments

that still doesn't make it true though, it looks as if the white water has been messed with, or you believe everything you see on the papers and media????
i have also caught backwash but not nearly as gnarly as that, besides is not to fun to surf, more for bodyboarders to get launched off of, i've only surfed them to get faster to the point......
any way, that's still not usual, they say it never gets like that..
it's still pretty crazy to go in there, i wouldn't have....or i would have to get the normal wave but not the backwash....
would you????
