28 years and counting. I most often have dreams about surfing, I check the conditions a few times a day, regardless of where I am, and risk my job on a regular basis by working from the beach on a blackberry when conditions are good.

I'm trying to hold off buying a lovely new board until i know i can use it... till then its renting foamies when the chance arises... i'm happy enough like that for now though! :D

On that note (and i know its not really on topic so my apologies but...) i have my beady eyes on a new 7'6" roger cooper board to get me rolling... even the idea of getting my first board is driving me to distraction! Just want to know that I'm not making a rookie error with that board... it looks awesome to me!

I'm glad everyone who surfs feels this good about it! I cant wait to meet some of you guys out on the waves :D

I went onece last year graemeb, now 6 times this summer, got rib injuries, surfed a 7th time injured, got reinjured and I'm so sick of not being able to go, I know I gotta sit out the injury but we gotta nice 10-12 foot swell coming in to our little surf spot "Jordan river" south of Tofino, Vancouver Island which I'm sure will make for some good surf. So yeah, I'm picking up what your putting down, Roly.

Now this is quite a serious question for me... Does this debilitating obsession with surfing which i have recently been hit with ever end?

I've only been out a few times but already I cant think of anything else... I can't concentrate on work properly, My head is almost always out the window checking the Brighton surf (make that non-existent surf), My girlfriend is getting crazy with me trying to rope her in to it... I even had a near miss on my Vespa yesterday after zoning out wondering if Croyde would have any waves next weekend...

Does this happen to everyone and has my life been invaded for good or will it all mellow a bit to allow me to function properly again?

On a lighter note has anyone else had any near misses whilst day dreaming about surf?

I'm a rookie surfer and I was obsessed before I started!! Seriously though - I'm the same - I can't believe how much I'm missing it already.
