5 day baja report:

Sunday: head high but super walled up beach break in afternoon

Monday: Walled up head-high beach break in morning, fun shoulder high point break in afternoon

Tuesday: Super big overhead+half reef break in morning, super fun shoulder high point break in evening (will post pics)

Wednesday: Big overhead reef break (not as big as Tuesday)in the morning, blown out but still fun point break in afternoon

Thursday: Head high reef and sandbar in the morning then the drive back.

So, the east coast of Oz is getting an immense and quality swell. And at the weekend too!

This is my local, just down at the road at Maroubra...


Spot the little guy in the middle if you can - that'll give you some idea of scale
Double to treble overhead. A serious bit of water.

So, stuff that, I'll pop around the corner to a spot that rarely works, only on the biggest swells...


Actually, that shot doesnt do it justice - a solid couple of foot, breaking left over an easy reef, and I ended up having a good session and a couple of top waves

Almost got mashed onto the reef as what looked like a barrel turned out to be a close-out

BAJA Report: There where about a dozen surfers at the k38 point breal, looked great, but we decided to surf Teresitas instead, just me and a bud.

Big overhead+2ft, scary fast into shallow cobblestones. Caught 3 or 4 great inside connectors, but the rest where just super steep drop in-and-out type of waves. No cutbacks, no tricks, simply drop in steep and fly accross, no time to think, super fast humbling waves. The inside was barreling but it was spooky shallow with big rocks sticking out so I did not even think of going for the shacks. Fun stuff.

Just had an amazing time down in Devon. Surf was cranking all weekend. Was in the water 7 hours on Friday, 3 sessions. Can't beat it !

My latest droubt has been broken by a weekend in N. Devon!! Woooo hoooooo!

Everywhere was blown out but Puts, so we went in 5 hrs out of the weekend (not much but it's been 2 years and my paddle fitness isn't exactly up to scratch)

Hi everyone

Well, been a bit of 'mixed' half year for me...had a good few sessions, Cornwall, Devon, Scarborough.

I went to Portugal in March with my wife, stayed in Praia da Luz and surfed Beliche and Tonel. I was there for a week and had some nice clen 3ft surf and amazing weather. On the Thursday my Dad died back at home (parents live in Lincoln).
I'd had a great day up at Carrapateira, paddled into some larger surf, (for me). Had a couple of really nice rides, and surfed with a guy from Manchester area. When I got back to the hotel I'd had a couple of missed calls and one was saying he'd had a heart attack that morning. Spent the last day there is something of a daze to say the least!

Spent a couple of days with 2 German and one Spanish guy who really made them good sessions cheering when you got a wave, joking, story telling and that was before we got out the water! Nice fun 3ft or so, clean, sunny and only one local, who was good, if not a little annoying!

Cheers and hopefully be at Scarborough this weekend

best place to be in california yesterday was definitely point dume. Head high +++, offshores, barrels, 500 yard+ rights.

We're usually flat here in Florida over the summer, but the tropical depression in the Atlantic brought some fun waves today. I had the best day in a long time. The water was warm, and unusually clear for us (maybe 10' + of visibility), also saw a school of rays swimming around the line-up, beautiful...

Just had a 6-8ft summer swell over here on the cold east coast

Surfed smaller wrap around spots due to (a) full on cold and (b) lack of fitness due to a crap year so far surf wise

Woke up sat morning like jelly due to the above, i went back to sleep whist my mate surfed the point.

Had awesome session yesterday. Perth got hit with a fairly good swell and absolutely no wind all day. Stayed out in the water for 7 hours and now my neck is killing me
Was a great day to get use to me new board before I go to Bali next week

East Coast was good at the weekend surfed 7 session all in all. I got a broken blood vessel in my eye, (faceplant)! Hurt shoulder and weaver fish sting on the way out after faceplant lol!
Surf was great, little scary at cayton Sunday morning but South Bay was good Fri and Sat...Stoked! How you doing Phil?
