This is my break on this last Sunday morning. Second day (first full day) of a building swell that has reached overhead+ as of today, although it's blown out and pretty much a mess. I got there later in the day, about one in the afternoon, and it eventually got about waist to chest that day, and stayed clean and beautiful all day, with just a light breeze coming up in the afternoon. Days like this (in February!) are why I live here. I had a session the previous day (Saturday) as well, and it was about the same size, but not quite as clean.

The guy at the beginning of the vid is Yancy Spencer III, the owner of my local surf shop, and the guy that'll be shaping my funboard this summer.

Hope you all enjoy it :surfing:

Sunday morning surf: sunset cliffs, north garbage, about a foot overhead, fun rolling waves. Had to break out the california gun to make the roll, but once on it you got long winding shoulders, at least 20 seconds or longer. Not epic but loads of fun!!!!

Just been out, it was clean and glassy and about 2' @ 12s... nothing too memorable there I hear you cry...

But then...

Out of the wave in front jumped a porpoise! I couldn't believe it, it was so cool!!! He hung around for a bit then vanished!
Talk about stoked :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The rains finally stopped ! And giving the ocean three days to wash out some of those contaminants, today was finally a safe day to surf without any winds to chop it up !

Santa Ana Jetties at noon had consistent 3-4 footers, and surprisingly the occasional 7-8 footer. Frankly, I was terrified and just duck-dived anything over 4 feet :( .

Had a slightly odd one this morning...

A pre-work dawnie at Maroubra, beautiful sunrise, not a breath of wind, glassy 8)
Surf was small, but okay for a relaxing one before a busy day.

I paddled out and got three clean waves... and then couldnt catch a damn thing for the next hour!

Finally! a nice swell pushing through onto the east coast! got out on the fish today in 2-3ft howling offshore wind. session was average as the wind was so strong it held the board up quite a bit but was nice to get in. water doesn't feel so cold too which is a bonus, only a suit and boots needed today. looking forward to tomorrow and weds sessions as the winds forcast to drop off a little
