Had a good surf at Tynemouth this morning.
Nice clean 3ft waves with 10 sec intervals.
Brilliant sunshine and water pretty warm!
I know sounds pathetic but it was my best surf yet, loads of practice done :-)

Only thing that spoilt it was I saw a dog pee on my bag when i was in the sea

There is a 5ft South swell at 195 and Imperial beach is catching it but kinda big and walled and tubing and really shallow, totally fun. Got shacked 4 times but did not make it out once, just got hammered!
Also caught a couple of fun fast shoulders. Fun but sore!

Just had a terriffic morning at Cronulla - glassy surface, 2-3ft with 4ft sets, I got a mini close out barrell, plenty of sweet late drops, and a few fast steep faces - and DBBB took the prize for insane late drop on a fish with a good 5ft of freefall.

Spiney, you should have made the effort!

I know Jimi had a good surf because I was there too :D

Glassy 3ft with the occasional much bigger set, which only a complete fool would try and take off on
(I almost made it, dammit)

Some barrel action, and beautiful re-form sections to duck under the lip, followed by crazy backwash shenanigans

Top surf, top day 8)

As ia arrived to the beachbreak i regullary surf i noticed some nice clean chest high waves breaking nicely.
Unfortunately as i paddled in i noticed that the water was only thigh high in a place where the usual depth makes you barely touch the sand with your toes... so i got a little worried.

And yes as i tought the beach had set the bait and i had bitten it.

I got hammered all morning by over headhigh closeouts.

Since the water was so shallow the waves face got huge suddenly and broke with a lot of force.

I got thrown off the board by the lip of over 4 to5 waves i tried to catch.
I pearled over like 3 times. Got hitted by the board on two of them.

I sllice 3 of my fingers with the fins and have a swelling just below my ankle that hurts as i walk.

I can barely stand my backache from being treated like a ragdoll all morning.

Yet i cant wait until tomorrow to go again.
Unfortunately its going to get worse at this break cause a nice swell is coming up and the bigger it gets ther the more closeout like it breaks.
And since its a work day i cant go out of town to anoyther beach.

I have an alternative to go into a reef spot but the weak side is infested by surfers and spongers and the big nice side its too much for me to handle at this moment.

So tomorrow im taking the plungeinto the washing machine again.
Thank god for aspirin. 8)

possibly my best surf this year. about 2-4ft, offshore and super hollow. went to the beach first and that was really hollow so thought i would check out a local reef and it was crazy. took the harmageddon out and it got barrelled like mad for a full 4 hours. paddle out was easy too so wicked surf.

just had a top morning surf on a little reefy bit at Cronulla. The beaches were all blown out and messy, but found a sheltered reef and indulged in me and my mate being the only people out there for 3 hours of glassy 1-2ft waves :)

Short period, but still glassy surface conditions underneath a headland :)

Baja report, k 55 private beach: two breaks to choose from, one was a super fast closed out reef break, the other was a super slow point break that broke forever, both overhead+ on choice sets with head high sets every few minutes (there was also a breach break, but that is for south swells).

My bro had been out of the water a few months so we headed to the point break, he used a 7ft everly funboard and I a 6'10" fish. Mushy take-offs, super long rides, 50yrds plus minumum (with super long paddle backs), 20 to 30 second rides. We surfed with one older longboarder for about a half an hour and 2 hours all alone.

Ouch.
Pre-work dawnie at maroubra this morning. It wasn't particularly big, but steep as always. I took a couple of fairly heavy wipeouts which Im gonna be feeling for the next few days...

Damn those late take offs :bang:

On the plus side, I was surfing with dolphins again this morning :D

Had a really good surf out at Sunset Cliffs today. Not sure what the break was called but it was out beyond the other breaks beyond this bay. Was me an 3-5 other guys. The sets were solid overhead + and were fun walls that lasted forever!

Did anyone else make it out today? Can't wait for tommorrow when its even bigger

got out today with only 1-2ft. was pretty heavy though breaking onto the sandbank with long hold downs assuming the size. got a few ok waves but most were closing out giving funny wipeouts and someone snapping the nose off their board
