first week of unemployment and had more surf than i've had all summer..
spent a couple of days in sligo... wind changed... went to achill... couple good days there... swell dropped... went to kerry... had 3 really good days down there... peaked at about 5ft surf in one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen... started to get a bit crowded on the evening of the biggest day.

surfing's improved enormously... really starting to nail the new board (short for me 7ft thruster)... getting in early cutting the face both ways.. even landed a couple lefts without grabbin a rail (haven't been able to go left on anything other than a 9'4 previously..)

may never go back to work

missus just read this... apparently i'm going back to work :ninja:

might just wait till the wolves are at the door first tho.... work better under pressure anyway...

Was out yesterday evening in glorious conditions! Was busy in the water, but managed to find a nice spot with only a couple of easy going guys. Had one of my best days on my 6'8 board which I've finally got to grips with!

Really weak waves, barely surfable. Was inland for three weeks, and worked out my arms and upper body a lot. So I was surprised when... my legs were like jelly and I couldn't pop up. I kept falling.

ARG! Apparently I underestimated the need to work out my legs. So now I'm doing bloody squats and lunges trying to get them back worth a crap.

had a great weekend at gwenvor, friday pretty flat but worth being out there, saturday small and clean, picking up through the day - was out all day and had some long rides. Sunday getting much bigger and very very busy out there, stayed out till late evening but didn't do much - but really had an amazing time, been ages since I've managed to get more than an hour here and there so it was fantastic! Good training for my impending move to sydney!

Should have a few photos to stick on here later in the week.

Saw some Asian kid try to ride a shortboard in +6 ft waves today. He launched himself into the water and immediately got thrown back out by a breaking wave near the shore. Landed on his ass in the sand. Spent 15 minutes paddling to the line-up, getting hammered a dozen times. Got there, wiped out on two small waves. Saw a big one coming and went for it. Got absolutely hammered on the take-off and broke his board in two. Spent another ten minutes paddling back to the shore on half a board while clutching onto the other half. Quietly left the beach...

Some days it's best to stay in if you do not have too much of a clue.

surfing cornwall today. massive swell rollin in throughout the day. managed to find a sheltered spot on west side of the bay with offshore winds. the surf went from 4ft to around 8ft in two hours! thick, chunky and pretty intimidating. all the tourists stuck near shore as the white water was too heavy - nice barrier there hehehe

an hour before i got out, scouted the other side of the bay where it was empty and the surf was even bigger as the tide was on the push! paddled over and had 8ft+ hollow rights all to myself for half an hour. chargin! a lot of the surf was closing out but some were perfect. hope that swell still lingering around tomorrow, if so, same again! woop! :D
