did a bad thing today

Postby keef » Sun Nov 04, 2007 9:30 pm

Yep really bad, wasn't looking down the wave when I popped up, and dropped in on this guy who was trimming down the quite quickly. He didn't shout so the first I knew that he was there was............... when we hit each other. I didn't even realise that I'd done anything wrong until I'd recovered my board and started paddling back out. Then it dawned on me that I was an idiot and for us to have collided like that it must have been me in the wrong. Tried to catch the guy and apologize but he had paddled off.
I feel like a complete :yearght:
And probably deserve to be on the receiving end of some of this :ninja:
One of his fins sliced straight through the rail of my best board, but I'm glad it wasn't the other way around.

Found him on the beach later and said I was sorry.

i've dropped in a few times on people accidently and always try to apologize with a wave of the hand or something if i get the chance. sucks about your board getting sliced, definitely don't deserve that since the dropin was accidental.

i definatlly have dropped in on someone...years ago at manobier,id only just started and i wa concentrating more on my take off than anything, then bam! hit someone  lots of fist shaking and swearing! turns out he drinks in what was my local so i got to applogise later...he was ok about it :D
last weekend at hells mouth was rammed, hard to tell who was dropping in on who,at one point there were longboarders out back some in the middle and a few in the whitewater on foamies,so i got out and moved down to a quiter spot....happy day :D
