Bad day?

Postby sakic » Tue Oct 02, 2007 5:42 am

About a week ago on sunday i went surfing with my friend to explore a new beach...after 5 minutes of paddling i kinda overlooked and 8ft wave just hit me so i thought ok it wasnt that bad im gonna pass the wave under water in sec but instead of come up bu board got pulled down to the bottom and i thought it gonna let go in a sec but it didnt and i kinda almost drowned i just couldnt fight it any more and i got scared.thank got it let go, after that i came out of water and decided just not to surf on this beach any more...after that we went to another beach the one where we alredy have surfed 100 times and after good surfing there i quickly got out and saw 2 sharks coming by where i have just surfed by a minut ago...and that did it i went home. yesterday sun morning i was just afraid of going surfing again...do u think it is gonna overcome?

The best thing you can do is not struggle. Wipeouts big or small i just curl up in a ball and go with the flow. When you feel the grip released dont struggle wait a second or two to see which direction you are floating this should give you an idea of which way is up.

Struggling enduces panic which makes you run out of air much faster. Not much you can do about the sharks though :-)
