What are the most popular boards at your surf spots?

Postby Bub » Fri Aug 31, 2007 12:48 pm

When I surf at the Delaware shore, I usually see alot of Walden longboards, NSP's (minimal/funboard) and Channel Island (thruster/shortboards) as the most common/recognizable brands I see folks with out there. Just wondering from you folks scattered around the US and world, see different name brands as the most common or even a local shaper whom sells a ton of boards locally that appear in your surf spot. Just wondering.

around my break in south carolina, i see a lot of mctavish surftech longboards. most of the old guys have really old boards with no names on them. theres also some erie boards, 7S, and a bunch of other brands. I see a lot of NSP's sitting on the beach, never see that many in the water.

It's summertime, and Costco had a deal on softtop boards, isaluteyou, so a lot of people bought them and are bringing them to the beach. :D I even got one for my sister.
As for my area, the manufacturer that I see the most of is Al Merrick.

For $99 I can buy one for my kids to learn on. Wait a second, I'm the surfer (or try to be) in my family and I haven't even saved up enough $$$ to buy a board yet! :D

everyone at my break rides ...Lost boards. They have cool designs but not the nicest sticks out there. I guess its whatever local shops are selling because the big shop by me almost only sells Lost.
