going to puerto rico- ideas?

Postby sam » Sun Feb 22, 2004 4:48 pm

i'm going to live in PR for the summer, but i don't know which part to go to. i'm a beginner surfer, so i want a place where i'll be able to improve my skills, and i'd like to be able to live close to the beach for not too much money. I don't know if anyone's familiar w/ PR, but i'd really apreciate any ideas. Also, as a side note, does anyone have any ideas for a job that i could get while i'm there (i'm 20 and in college). Thanks!

PR is mad, but i dunno about learning to surf there. there is a major reef called Peng Dung (pronounced Pscweng Di-ang) that is widely regarded as one of the heaviest barrels. as for a job, alot of young guys did stuff like worked banana trees and so forth with the locals for food and accomadation. while i was there i found the locals really friendly. have fun

I like the idea of working for food/ accomodation, but i won't have a car, so do you think i would be able to do that close to the water? Thanks for the help
