You can see when the wave has passed over you. And its pretty.

agreed always open. yes even in the north sea. the reason being that you can tell when to angle for the surface and also if you've messed up your duckdive and you're coming in for a beating. with closed eyes you can see nothing. remember the sneses work together!

Has anyone ever got an infection from wearing their contacts in the sea?

I don't know about anyone else, but I havn't.

well, i was speaking to a guy who surfs at Coney (a local beach) and he got an infection in his eye, but i don't know if it was because he was wearing contacts. There has also been many other complaints about water quality here aswell

Being completely zen and at one with the sea :wink: I close my eyes and 'feel' my duckdives.

A fun thing to do in small surf is to try and paddle for a wave with your eyes shut. When you see the wave come and paddle into position, close your eyes and paddle like crazy! It's fleshin scary!!
