10m Waves this weekend????

Postby ValleyCommando » Fri Feb 09, 2007 5:12 pm

Saturday and Sunday some of the wave models have a lot of big numbers in open waters around Cornwall - 30ft/10m at 10W witha very large swell componenet rather than mostly wind wave - what effect (if any) is that gonna have re damage at sea walls/coastal flooding etc.
How uncommon are these sorts of numbers of Cornwall.

I'm not a surfer but I like waves. :)

Over winter fairly common.
These are also Open sea swell figures. the actual size on the coast is alot less.
Additionaly we're in Neep tides right now so I doubt there will be much if any damage over the comming days. The onl;y thing thats going to take a bashing are the sandbanks.
