almost got knocked out

Postby isaluteyou » Wed Oct 18, 2006 9:40 pm

Today i had a mighty close encounter to actually being K O'd in the surf  .

the surf was fairly sizable around 4-8FT face but it was an outgoing tide and the waves were closing out super quick which didnt make for a very good surf. Anyway i managed to actually get into a fairly decent ride when some joker drops in on me just as the wave was closing out. Well i had no where to go - neither did he - any way i bailed and got totally slammed right to the bottom of the sand and i felt this giant thud on the top of my head As i broke free of the washer machine i started to see stars and felt like blacking out  . I caught the first foamie i could and rode in on my belly. As i hit sand i crawled out feeling really dizzy and sickly in my stomach. Anway fortunatly the feeling passed after about 5 or so minutes and i felt a little bit more normal needless to say the surf session was over.

Luckily iam unharmed but for maybe a tree stump on my head im sure i will feel it tomorrow  . However if i see the guy that dropped in on me again im going to give him an earfull i couldnt at the time i was too worried about passing out in the water. This is probably the closest i have come to actually beleiving im going to drown or something worst of it was i really close to the jetty which is full of nasty rocks and there was a really strong pull towards them.

Im just greatfull i did not pass out and that i did not get hit by my fins. I think what happened was that my board shot up and clonked me square on. Any ways it was a close call it could have been a lot worse.

Ps - Be weary of moronic gimps that ride a potatoe chip board wearing a blue wetsuit if you ever come to ocean beach. And if the guy is reading this get your earmuffs ready next time i see you.

Glad you're ok bro; hope your head's not too bad in the morning.

That must have been one hell of a shock you got there.. thing is the idiot probably doesn't have a clue how close he/she came to doing really serious/ultimate damage.

I would definately say something if you see this person again so that they (hopefully) won't be as stupid next time... the next person might not be so 'fortunate'.

Take care
