ARE these waves surfable???

- i just moved to a new place and was wondering if i am able to rider these waves, from what it seems barely anyones surfs to ask so.......here the are

The first pic looks ridable but blown out. Judging by the pics, i'd also be careful for the currents.

Worst possible idea is go surfing in cold waters with bad currents with no body around for miles......

-That seems to be the problem for me in finding a friend to surf with no one my age seems to surf where i am from i live in a gulph so u have to know when to surf i wish i could just find some one to go with, thank u for your post u have all been very helpful.

there also might be other reasons nobody surfs there

bad rip currents or Hidden underwater obstacles. I personally would get some local knowledge first... or go for a paddle on a flat day and see what it's like.

yep yep ..going with all the above .

That top piccy doesnt look nice unless it was a really strong blown out day?! .. the guys here know far more than me but looking at the photo " damn that looks a hell of a mixing bowl to me " .. go for a steady paddle on a flat day i reckon but still tell someone where your at especially if you have no one to come with you :wink:

aah god. I had to save two tourist from drowning today..christ. They were both clinging on the ends of the londboard screaming for help in japanese!

The got sucked up by the rip that killed the other guy a few weeks back so I had to make sure I didn't get in it..so, threw my surfboard as close as I could, that's when I learnt he couldn't swim..god! (what was he doing on a surfboard with his girlfriend 100m in big stormy conditions if he couldn't swim?)

Yea..I had to take off the leash and push the board next to him, told him to paddle towards me...and I dragged him into shore..But he absoluetly bricked himself when he was a 6ft+ wave that was going to break on us. :shock:

As for his girlfriend someone else got her whilst I was dragging him in!

And where were the lifeguards...lmfao..Thailand :roll:

Looks like a life guard chair in the 5th pic. I'd ask him/her about the spot. Also your local surf shop might have some info.

Woodn't go out alone first few times thou.

the 1st pic loks like the wash is going into a cliff or rocks of some sort, would surf that unless your got some experiance

-it may look like rocks but its the cliff that is attached to the beach, u would have to go for about 200 yards before u hit the cliff.
