What type of waves do you look for when you are starting out on a surfboard/shortboard? Any info would help... :D

starting..hmm.

Something small that your comfortable with. Maybe around waist high, and not steep. A wave that crumbles.

Also make sure it is a sandy bottom :)

I reckon go for waves with as much power as you can handle.

You need waves with a bit of ... what's the technical word???... oomph.. to get going on a shortboard/surfboard.

It's easier on your pop up if the face of the wave is a bit steeper, or if the wave is a bit greener (know wha I mean?).. playing around in the whitetrash waves can be fun, but when it starts getting lame, move out to the bigger ones.

yea.

oh... but yea.. don't drown. If you drown.. ok, it WASN'T me who told you to kick some ass and get out there... ok. :?
