Surfing in Llangenith

Hi guys,
I am guna b goin on a little surf trip to Llangenith in the first week of August, but do not own a wetsuit. I was thinking of maybe just wearing a rash vest with swim shorts but i know its guna b cold. I was just wondering if there is anyone who has any experience of Llangenith at this time of year, and whether they reckon i cud get away with it, or if i wud die!?

depends on the weather, gennith does tend to be a bit colder than the other bays on the gower because its more open, but on a sunny day on august you could get away with a rashie and shorts if your only going in for a short surf, but dont count on being in there longer than half an hour. Your best bet is to get one of those cheap shorties from a supermarket, thatll do alright even if its a bit overcast or windy.

I wouldnt bet on it. If you cant get a cheap 3mm wetsuit you could always rent a wetsuit at llangennith

Sorry I forgot to add. The above is my opinion. Last week when I was in Llangennith there was a few in boardies and swim suits. Theres a few who can seem to manage to do this through summer but I would get a 3mm wetsuit to be certain. Theres no guarantee that it will be hot enough for boardies.

Get a wettie otherwise it wont be fun, and if it aint fun, whats the point?
